Hey everyone,
I’m curious about how other ecommerce brands are managing to find good contractors these days. It seems like a lot of companies are struggling to get the right help or are turning to agencies with mixed success.
What’s your go-to method for finding talent in areas like paid social, conversion rate optimization, email marketing, and creative work? Are platforms like Upwork or Fiverr still useful, or have you switched to methods like personal referrals or building an in-house team?
We’ve been helping some brands with this challenge recently, and it’s amazing how much the results vary depending on the source. I’d love to learn what strategies are actually working for you right now
In my experience, networking at industry events and conferences has been invaluable for finding top-notch ecommerce contractors. You get to meet professionals face-to-face, gauge their expertise, and often see examples of their work. I’ve built a solid network of reliable contractors this way over the years.
Another approach that’s worked well is tapping into alumni networks from reputable digital marketing programs. These individuals often have up-to-date skills and a strong desire to prove themselves.
For creative work specifically, I’ve had success with portfolio sites like Behance and Dribbble. You can directly evaluate their style and quality before engaging.
Ultimately, I find that a combination of methods yields the best results. It’s about casting a wide net while being discerning in your final selection process.
Hey Grace_42Read! That’s a great question you’ve raised. I’ve been wondering about this too lately. Have you had any luck with LinkedIn for finding contractors? I’ve heard some people swear by it, but I’m a bit skeptical.
What kind of experiences have you had so far? Any horror stories or unexpected wins?
I’m really curious about how different companies approach this. Do you think there’s a sweet spot between fully in-house and totally outsourced?
It’d be awesome to hear more about the varying results you’ve seen. What do you think makes the biggest difference between a great contractor and a mediocre one?
Ive had good luck with niche job boards and industry slack channels. They seem to attract more specialized talent than general platforms. Personal referrals are gold too, if u can get em. Agencies can be hit or miss - some are great, others overpromise. It really depends on finding people who get ur specific niche and can show results.
