Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some advice on open-source e-commerce platforms that work well for B2B businesses. I know Magento used to have a B2B extension, but it doesn’t seem to be available anymore.
Are there any other good alternatives out there? I’d love to hear about your experiences with different platforms or any recommendations you might have.
It would be great to know about features that are particularly useful for B2B, like bulk ordering or customer-specific pricing. Also, how easy are these platforms to customize and scale?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
have u looked at OroCommerce? its an open-source platform built specifically for b2b. It has bulk ordering, custom pricing, and a flexible architecture for scalability. i’ve used it for a client project and it handled complex b2b scenarios pretty well. might be worth checking out if you want something tailored for b2b from the ground up.
Have you considered OpenCart? It’s a robust open-source platform that’s gaining traction in the B2B space. While it’s not exclusively B2B, it offers extensions that can transform it into a powerful B2B solution. I’ve used it for a few projects, and it’s quite versatile.
One of OpenCart’s strengths is its extensive marketplace for extensions. You can find modules for bulk ordering, customer-specific pricing, and even quote management. The platform is also relatively easy to customize, even for those with limited coding experience.
In terms of scalability, OpenCart holds up well. It’s designed to handle large product catalogs and high traffic volumes. Plus, its admin panel is intuitive, which makes managing a growing business easier.
Just keep in mind that while the core is free, you might need to invest in some paid extensions to get all the B2B functionality you need. But overall, it’s a solid option worth exploring.
