My startup's revenue skyrocketed from $5M to $35M-$45M in a year. Was it just good fortune?

Hey everyone,

I’m kinda blown away by my company’s growth and wanted to get your thoughts. We started last year and hit $5M in revenue. This year, we’re looking at $35M to $45M, depending on how Q4 goes.

I’ve been in the game since 2015, starting with dropshipping and eventually selling that business. Then I helped scale another brand’s e-commerce from $20k to $1.7M monthly. After that, I ran my own agency for a while.

Now, with this new venture, we’re seeing crazy growth. It took us 6 months to hit our first million, but then things just took off. This year, we hit $1M in about 80 days.

Our customer acquisition costs have gone up ($100+ now), but we’re still scaling fast. I don’t think it’s just luck - we’ve been working our butts off.

What do you guys think? Anyone else experienced this kind of growth? Any advice for keeping the momentum going?

Thanks for your input!

wow thats awesome growth! congrats man. sounds like ur hard work is paying off big time. i’ve seen some startups blow up but not quite that fast. what’s ur secret sauce? any tips for keeping the momentum going? hope u can keep crushing it!

Whoa, that’s some seriously impressive growth! :rocket: Congrats on hitting those numbers! I’m super curious about your journey. What do you think was the biggest game-changer for you? Was there a specific strategy or pivot that really made things click?

I’ve seen some companies grow fast, but going from $5M to potentially $45M in a year is wild. Have you had any ‘oh crap’ moments trying to keep up with that pace? How’s your team handling it?

Also, I’m intrigued by your customer acquisition costs. $100+ is pretty hefty - are you finding ways to offset that with customer lifetime value or other metrics?

Keep us posted on how things go! It’d be awesome to hear more about your experiences as you navigate this crazy growth. Any plans for what’s next, or are you just hanging on for the ride?

Congratulations on your impressive growth. While luck can play a role, sustained success at that scale usually stems from a combination of factors. Your prior experience in e-commerce and scaling businesses likely contributed significantly. You’ve probably developed a keen sense for market trends and effective strategies.

The rapid revenue increase suggests you’ve found a product-market fit and are executing well on marketing and operations. However, be cautious of the rising customer acquisition costs. As you scale further, focus on optimizing your funnel and retention strategies to maintain profitability.

To keep the momentum, stay agile and keep innovating. Watch for shifts in the market or customer preferences. Consider diversifying your product line or exploring new channels. Also, invest in building a strong team and robust systems to support continued growth. The challenges at $50M+ will be different from those at $5M.
