Hey everyone,
I hit a nasty rock while riding my Ecom 14 scooter and now the back tire is flat. Bummer!
I’ve been trying to take off the wheel to replace it, but I’m stuck. The nuts won’t budge no matter what I do. I looked online for a how-to guide, but came up empty-handed.
Has anyone here dealt with this before? Any tips on removing those stubborn nuts or replacing the tire? I’d really appreciate some help getting my ride back on the road.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
I’ve encountered a similar issue with my Ecom 14. The wheel nuts can be notoriously tight. Here’s what worked for me:
First, try applying a penetrating oil like WD-40 to the nuts and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. This can help loosen any rust or corrosion.
If that doesn’t work, you might need more leverage. I found that using a breaker bar or a long pipe over your wrench handle provides the extra torque needed to break those stubborn nuts loose.
As a last resort, carefully applying heat with a blow torch to the nut (not the tire!) can sometimes do the trick. Just be cautious not to damage any nearby components.
Once you get the wheel off, replacing the tire itself is straightforward. Good luck with the repair!
Hey there, fellow scooter enthusiast!
I’m super curious about your Ecom 14 - I’ve been eyeing one for a while now. How’s it been treating you overall, besides this flat tire hiccup?
Speaking of which, those stubborn nuts sound like a real pain! Have you tried using any kind of lubricant on them yet? Sometimes a good spray of WD-40 and letting it sit for a bit can work wonders.
Oh, and I’m wondering - do you have any pictures of where the nuts are exactly? It might help to see what we’re dealing with here. Maybe there’s a trick to accessing them that we’re missing?
Keep us posted on how it goes! I’m really interested to hear if you manage to crack this puzzle. Who knows, your solution might help out other Ecom 14 owners down the line!
yo dude, i had the same prob with my ecom 14 last month. those nuts are a real pain! what i did was use a rubber mallet to tap the wrench while turning. it helps break the rust seal. also, try putting ur whole weight on the wrench handle. if all else fails, maybe hit up a bike shop? they might have better tools to tackle it
