Could the inventory system be improved?

I recognize that earlier updates, like adding a storage feature, were intended to improve inventory issues. However, the current quick-access items on the D-pad are still problematic. When facing enemies such as Frostclaw and claw striders, having to navigate through numerous individual items—when I hardly ever use traps or potions—slows me down significantly. A more streamlined system for managing in-game items would make a big difference.
