B2B outreach for ecommerce tools: What are typical rates and conversion metrics?

I’ve been doing outreach for user-generated content (UGC) for a while now. My client, who runs a dropshipping software startup, wants me to start reaching out to businesses instead of just creators. This includes contacting mentors, organizations, and marketing agencies who might use or recommend the tool.

The software helps with Shopify competitor research. It has a big database of stores, tracks ads, and analyzes traffic.

I’m trying to figure out what to charge for this new type of outreach. I used to make $6 an hour for UGC work, but B2B seems different.

Has anyone done this kind of outreach before? What’s a good response rate to aim for? How many leads should I expect to get? Should I charge by the hour or a flat fee?

I’m thinking about offering strategy, lead targeting, writing emails, tracking responses, and giving weekly updates.

Any advice would be super helpful! I want to be fair with my pricing but also set realistic goals for my client. Thanks!

Hey RyanDragon22! Sounds like an exciting new challenge you’ve got there. I’m curious, have you thought about how you’re going to approach these businesses differently from creators? B2B outreach can be a whole different ballgame.

What kind of strategies are you considering for targeting the right mentors and agencies? I’d love to hear more about your plans.

As for pricing, have you considered a tiered approach? Maybe offer different packages based on the level of service? It could give your client some flexibility.

Oh, and I’m really intrigued by this Shopify competitor research tool. How does it compare to other tools out there? Might be worth highlighting its unique features in your outreach.

Keep us posted on how it goes! I’m sure others here would be interested in hearing about your experience as you navigate this new territory.

hey there RyanDragon22, i’ve done some B2B outreach for saas companies before. For rates, I’d say $20-30/hr is fair for this kinda work. Conversion rates can vary but 2-3% is decent for cold outreach. Flat fee might be better, like $500-1000 per campaign. just make sure to set clear expectations with ur client on deliverables and timelines. Good luck!
