Hey everyone,
I’m thinking about setting up a website for my photography and travel stuff. I want it to have an online store too. Here’s what I’m after:
- Main page
- Info about me
- Photo gallery (maybe 20-30 pics)
- Blog section (5-10 posts to start)
- Shop to sell digital photos (maybe physical prints later)
- Way for people to reach me
I’d like it to look good on phones and computers. It’d be great if I could manage it easily, maybe with Figma? Also, I want it to show up in Google searches and work with Amazon Associates.
How much do you think this might cost? Any ideas on how long it could take or what might be tricky?
Thanks for any help you can give!
Yo Isaac, cool idea!
costs can vary wildly dependin on wat u want. DIY with WordPress? Maybe $100-$300/year for hosting n plugins. custom dev? That could hit $5k+ easy. Big factor is the online store setup - that can get pricey. Timeline? Prob 2-6 weeks dependin on complexity. Trickiest part mite be makin it all work smoothly on mobile. good luck with ur project man!
Hey Isaac_Stargazer! Your project sounds super exciting!

I’m actually in the middle of building something similar, so I totally get where you’re coming from. Have you thought about using a platform like Squarespace or Wix? They might be a good starting point if you want to keep costs down and still have a professional-looking site.
I’m curious, what kind of photography do you specialize in? And where are some of your favorite travel spots? Those details could really help shape your site’s vibe.
As for costs, it really depends on how custom you want to go. I’ve seen similar projects range from a few hundred bucks (if you DIY with a template) to several thousand (for a fully custom build). The tricky part might be integrating the online store smoothly with the rest of your site.
How tech-savvy are you? That could impact whether you need to hire help or can tackle some of it yourself. Either way, I’d love to hear more about your vision for the site!
