What Type of Ads Should I Run for My E-Commerce Store?

I’ve been working with user-generated content (UGC) videos for my e-commerce store over the past few months. I’ve tried different methods but it’s hard to determine where to invest more money. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages, and I’m still trying to decide which one to stick with. Since I’m also on a tight budget, I could really use some advice.

Initially, I handled everything myself for the first month and a half and had my cousin edit the videos for $50. This brought in only a few sales, roughly $140, while spending about $300 a month on ads. It became unsustainable since I didn’t have the time to continue recording or editing videos myself.

My e-commerce store primarily sells dietary supplements and vitamins. After my cousin found a full-time job, I hired a UGC agency. They were professional but didn’t deliver the results they promised. Although sales increased to around $320, their high fees ($50 per video) made it hard to break even.

Based on friends’ recommendations, I switched to using AI video tools because they are more affordable at $100 a month for 10 videos. One month in, I’ve made approximately $280 in sales, but it’s still not profitable.

Do any of you have suggestions or think I should continue using AI for UGC video ads? I’m aware there’s no perfect solution, but if anyone has experience to share, I would greatly appreciate it.

hey Isaac! i think u should experiment with both AI videos and some DIY content. also, engage potential customers in health forums and social media groups. Might help build trust and boost sales :four_leaf_clover:

Hey Isaac! Sounds like you’ve been through quite the journey with your ads! Here’s a thought—what if you combine the AI video tool with some fresh UGC content? Maybe reach out to your existing customers and ask if they can create simple video testimonials in exchange for a small discount or free sample? This could keep your content feeling authentic without breaking the bank. Plus, genuine reviews might resonate more with potential buyers. Curious to see what others think—anyone had success with this blend of AI and real customer content? :rocket:

It might be beneficial to strike a balance between AI-generated content and authentic UGC. Consider reaching out to your existing customers for testimonials or reviews in exchange for discounts or small perks. This could generate authentic content without a large investment. Additionally, explore engaging with users on health-focused forums like Reddit or Quora, where genuine discussions and recommendations can drive interest in your products. Keep an eye on the performance metrics to refine your strategy and ensure your ad spend is effective.
