Verified Priority Access purchase gone wrong: FedEx damaged GPU, Nvidia cancels order with no reorder option

Hey everyone, I’m really frustrated and need some advice. I got into the Verified Priority Access program and bought a 5090. Everything seemed fine at first. Nvidia shipped it on March 5th and charged me. But then things went south.

The package got stuck right before delivery on March 10th. FedEx said it was damaged and they’d send it back to Nvidia. I contacted Nvidia Marketplace support, and they promised a replacement. Then they went quiet for days.

Suddenly, my order vanished from the Nvidia Marketplace. Now they’re saying they’ll refund me instead of replacing the GPU. I’m so upset because I can’t get back into the VPA program. I feel like I’ve lost my chance to get a 5090 FE just because FedEx messed up.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Is there anything I can do to get Nvidia to honor their original promise of a replacement? I really don’t want to lose out on this GPU. Any help would be appreciated!

dude that sucks so bad. ive had packages damaged before but never anything expensive like a gpu. maybe try calling nvidia directly instead of just emailing? sometimes talking to a real person helps. also check ur credit card benefits, some have purchase protection that could help. don’t give up man, keep pushing nvidia to make it right!

I’ve encountered a similar situation, though not with Nvidia specifically. In my experience, escalating to higher-level customer service often yields better results. Try requesting to speak with a supervisor or manager at Nvidia’s customer support. Be firm but polite, emphasizing that you were promised a replacement and that the damage occurred through no fault of your own.

Document all your communications meticulously, including dates, times, and names of representatives you’ve spoken with. This can be crucial if you need to escalate further. Additionally, check Nvidia’s terms of service for any clauses related to shipping issues or order cancellations. Sometimes, companies have policies in place that can work in your favor if you cite them.

Lastly, consider filing a formal complaint with your local consumer protection agency if Nvidia continues to be unresponsive. This can sometimes prompt companies to take action more quickly.

Aw man, that’s such a bummer! I can totally feel your frustration. FedEx strikes again, huh? :weary:

Have you tried reaching out to Nvidia on social media? Sometimes companies are more responsive there, especially if you make a polite but public post about your situation. Maybe tag their support team on Twitter or something?

I’m curious - did Nvidia give any explanation for why they changed their mind about the replacement? Seems weird they’d just cancel without offering alternatives.

What about contacting FedEx directly? Maybe they have some kind of claim process for damaged shipments that could help your case with Nvidia?

Keep us posted on what happens! I’m rooting for you to get that sweet 5090 FE somehow. The hunt for GPUs these days is wild enough without shipping mishaps throwing a wrench in things.
