Hey everyone I’m a virtual assistant based in the Philippines. I’ve been doing influencer outreach for a while but now my client a dropshipping SaaS startup wants me to start doing B2B outreach. This means contacting businesses that might use their Shopify competitor research tool.
I’m trying to figure out what’s normal for B2B outreach in this space. Like how many replies or deals should I expect each week? What should I charge for this kind of work? Is it better to bill hourly or do a monthly package?
I’m thinking about offering lead research cold emailing CRM updates and weekly reports. But I’m not sure how to price it. With influencer outreach I was making $6 an hour for 30 hours a week. But B2B seems more complex.
If anyone has experience with B2B outreach for SaaS or ecommerce I’d love to hear your thoughts. I want to be fair to myself but also give my client realistic expectations. Thanks for any advice!
Hey there DashingDog! B2B outreach can be a whole different ball game, right?
I’m curious, have you had any initial success with your new gig?
I’ve dabbled in B2B for e-commerce tools before, and let me tell you, it’s a rollercoaster! From what I’ve seen, reply rates can be all over the place - sometimes as low as 1%, other times hitting 5% if you’re really nailing your targeting.
What kind of businesses are you reaching out to? Small Shopify stores or bigger fish? That could make a huge difference in your approach and expectations.
As for pricing, have you thought about a base retainer plus performance bonuses? Maybe start at $1000/month for 20 hours a week, then add bonuses for each qualified lead or demo booked? That way, you’re covered but also incentivized to crush it!
Just spitballing here, but I’m super interested to hear how it goes for you. Keep us posted, yeah?
B2B outreach for SaaS can be quite different from influencer marketing. Based on my experience, expect lower response rates but potentially higher-value conversions. For a Shopify tool, you might see 1-2% positive replies and 0.3-0.5% conversion to demos or trials.
Regarding pricing, I’d recommend a monthly retainer model. Given the complexity and time investment required for B2B outreach, consider charging $1500-2000 per month for 25-30 hours of work. This should cover lead research, personalized outreach, follow-ups, and reporting.
Remember to set clear KPIs with your client and regularly review performance. B2B sales cycles can be longer, so patience and persistence are key. Good luck with your new venture!
hey there! I’ve done some b2b outreach for saas startups before. honestly, the rates can vary a lot depending on the niche and how targeted ur leads are. for a shopify tool, maybe aim for 2-3% reply rate and 0.5-1% conversion to calls/demos?
For pricing, i’d suggest a monthly retainer around $1000-1500 for 20-25 hrs/week. that gives u room to do proper research and followups. just my 2 cents tho!
