Did NECA accidentally send a duplicate? The blind box system seems flawed

I posted last night about receiving a mysterious blind Sci-fi/Fantasy box and feeling very lucky about my find. Today, an identical box arrived at my doorstep—even though I only ordered one—and the shipping label confirmed it was meant for me. For anyone doubting my claim, here’s the evidence. It appears the ordering system is currently malfunctioning.

NECA’s error seems to be a software glitch, and based on my experience, these issues are not uncommon with online ordering systems. I had a situation where an extra item was delivered, and although it initially raised concerns, reaching out to customer service clarified the misunderstanding without any additional charges. It’s important to verify order confirmations and document any discrepancies. This approach not only resolves the issue quickly but also ensures that your purchase records are correct in case further errors occur.

Hey everyone, pretty intriguing situation! I’m wondering if NECA actually uses some duplicate dispatches to stir up buzz or if it’s just a systematic error that they haven’t caught yet. While I haven’t had this exact experience, I did once receive a slightly different, unexpected item from another company and it ended up sparking an interesting conversation online. What do you all think—could these duplicates be an intentional nudge for collectors or just a remnant of a buggy system? I’m curious if anyone else has picked up on some hidden pattern. Does this incident make you question the blind box concept more or do you think it’s just an isolated fluke? Looking forward to everyone’s thoughts and any similar stories you might have!
