Best Learning Platform for Professional Association with Revenue Focus?

Hey everyone! I’m looking for advice on picking a learning management system (LMS) for our professional group. We’ve got about 5k active members and we’re trying to move away from our current setup with Eventbrite for selling training.

Here’s what we need:

  • A solid online store feature (we rely on selling stuff)
  • Good tracking for member learning hours (it’s a must for our regulatory duties)

We want members to be able to buy courses easily and track their progress. The system should help us make sure everyone’s keeping up with their yearly study requirements.

Has anyone used an LMS that fits the bill? What worked well? What didn’t? Any tips would be awesome!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey sky_Dreamer! have u checked out LearnDash? It’s pretty solid for what ur after. The ecommerce bit is smooth, n tracking hours is a breeze. We use it for our 3k member org and its been great.

one thing tho - the reporting can be a bit clunky sometimes. But overall, it’s bee n super helpful for managing our regulatory stuff. lemme know if u want more details!

I’ve had success with Thinkific for a similar setup. It offers robust e-commerce features and integrates well with payment processors. The learning tracking is comprehensive, allowing easy monitoring of member progress and completion rates. One caveat: the initial setup can be time-consuming, especially if you’re migrating existing content. However, once configured, it’s user-friendly for both admins and members. The analytics tools are particularly useful for gauging course performance and member engagement. While it may be pricier than some alternatives, the ROI has been solid for us, especially in terms of increased course sales and member satisfaction. Just ensure your tech team is prepared for the integration process.

Hey there! Have you looked into Teachable at all? I’ve been using it for my small business coaching courses and it’s been pretty great. The e-commerce side is super smooth - my clients can buy stuff with no hassle.

What I’m really curious about though is how you’re handling the regulatory side of things. Does your association have specific requirements for tracking study hours? I’d love to hear more about that.

Teachable’s progress tracking is decent, but I wonder if it would be robust enough for your needs. How detailed does the hour tracking need to be?

Oh, and have you considered how you’ll migrate all your existing content? That can be a real headache sometimes. Any thoughts on how you’ll tackle that?

Just throwing ideas out there - always excited to hear about how other orgs are handling this stuff. Keep us posted on what you decide!
